Mindful Awareness Facilitator

Marjolaine Renfro

Marjolaine is an artist, a mother and a grandmother.  In all these roles her contemplative practice of over 30 years comes to the foreground. She believes that practice is what happens when we get up from the meditation cushion.  In her years of caring for her husband, her practice is what enabled her to keep going, to accept, to learn, to honor.  Her practice shows up in her art, creating pieces of the heart, pieces for others to contemplate. Her biggest compliment was from a woman at an art show, who said: “Your work takes me places I don’t want to go.”  She felt she had cracked a door, an opening, for another person to begin a personal exploration.

As a grandmother she is overjoyed to share her contemplative practice.  She feels her role is guiding them to the world of interconnection and kindness. She believes that her actions are the ripple in the pond that will carry outward, reaching beyond her knowing.

Being a facilitator has been humbling.  Working with the children, watching them bloom, question, contemplate, explore. While she is the teacher, she is also the student, learning in each classroom what Mindfulness really looks like. She is honored to be supported in this role by the Flourish community.

When not in her studio or in the classroom you can find Marjolaine out hiking, sitting by a lake, meditating on a boulder.  She has favorite boulders at many of our beautiful wilderness locations.  She feels blessed to live in the mountains of Idaho, in such a supportive community of family and friends.
