Attention: May 2023

Nature’s rhythms can help guide our own internal exploration. Spring—infused with a sense of beginning and renewal—feels like the perfect time to attend to our inner garden. That’s one of the reasons why we choose the value of attention for the month of May.
What seeds are you planting or intentions are you setting in your life? Where are you placing your attention? Some of us, myself included, want to turn our attention toward relationships in need of extra care. Others may want to focus on building the skill of attention, perhaps deliberatively carving out time to “single-task.” Maybe instead of reading the newspaper while eating breakfast, we focus only on eating breakfast with attention to every bite.
We need not sit still to cultivate attention. We can practice this skill with any daily activity. This month we invite you to dig deeper into the value of attention. Here are some resources to get you started:
